THE WAY

Penciled by Glenn Andrean
written by Tucker FitzGerald

A 15 year old slave girl sets out into the desert, her new master: a young freedom fighter. Hunted by an Empire, and haunted by his past, they're looking for a new beginning. But when they cross destinies with a visionary desert nomad and a cursed messiah, their journey takes them places they never dreamed of.

Part one of a ten part series.

Employment

We're looking for finished products

Do you have a finished graphic novel product that you believe would fit in with Riotgear's focus? If so, we'd love to look at your project with the consideration of publication.

We're looking for writers

Do you have a story to tell? Do you believe that a graphic novel would be a strong format for telling this story? Do you believe that Riotgear is a strong venue for your story to be told? Then submit a portion or summery of your story for review.

We're currently looking for self contained work (not ongoing serials). We're more likely to read a story physically mailed in on paper. Brownie points for a story that's engaging to females or suitable for the manga genre. All genres are fair game, but if you have a superhero pitch, it's going to have to be an absolutely amazing one to fly with us.

We're looking for artists

Can you tell a story with pictures? Read that first sentence again. We'll take stick figures that tell a compelling story over heaping mounds of perfectly rendered chrome and plastic that fail to tell a story. Are you comfortable telling stories that intersect with the Christian faith? Can you render the female body in a way that doesn't objectify it? If so, then please submit several pages of consecutive panel art. Static "pin up" work will not be considered.

We are open to absolutely any style under the sun, although we have a strong interest in authentic manga work at this time, and we aren't planning on telling superhero stories at this time (so muscles and spandex aren't the most compelling subject matter for your submission). Online submissions (Jpeg, Gif, or PDF) will be reviewed faster than physical submissions. There is the potential for inkist of colorist positions, but there isn't much chance for serious pay in those positions at this time.

We're looking to pay you

As best we can. Our artist is being paid up front on The Way, and we're open to other manga artists being on that project. However, baring a significant investment from an advertiser or investor, we can't offer pay up front for other work. What we can offer is publication and 50% of profit to writer, 50% of profit to artist (or art team). We won't take any cut at this point, as we're looking to build our titles and fan awareness for now.
